The Government has confirmed that public gardens can remain open during the second lockdown period to enable exercise and recreation in fresh air.

This opening enables local people to enjoy the great outdoors while maintaining social distance and meeting current guidelines.

A spokesman said: “The woods are awash with golden colour, and apples and pears are ripening on espaliered trees. Visitors can venture out for a crisp walk, with leaves crunching underfoot, and enjoy the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness.

“Here it is possible to marvel at the colour spectrum in the falling leaves and look out for wilflife.”
