Despite the event being cancelled in 2020, and replaced with a highly successful virtual festival, the organisers, East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s events team, along with the Northern Kite Group, wanted to ensure the fun-filled weekend would be back for 2021.

Councillor Shaun Horton, portfolio holder for coastal regeneration and tourism, including leisure and tourism at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “We are pleased to announce that some of the world’s largest inflatable kites will now take to the skies above the dramatic cliffs of the East Yorkshire coast.

“Based on previous years’ festivals prior to the pandemic, this one promises to be the perfect family outing.”

The date change is for 2021 only, and it will return in May 2022 as usual. Visit www.facebook.com/bridlingtonkitefestival to find out more about the free event.
