FOLLOWING an absence of more than six months fans can look forward to the return of Todd Miller and the Joe Loss orchestra at the area’s best loved dance, and help raise money for cancer research.
The Bridlington fund raising committee of Yorkshire Cancer Research has organised its 17th annual ball at the Spa on Saturday March 24.
Todd and the orchestra, together with support band The Aces missed out on their regular New Year’s Eve slot this year at The Spa and are hoping for the usual support from fans for the YCR ball.
The biggest fundraising organised by the charity’s Bridlington branch, chairman Jan Jagger hopes it will bring in around £6,000 for the cause.
“It is normally around that figure and since the dance began we have raised more than £107,000 for Yorkshire Cancer Research,” said Jan.
The evening, which offers dancing and entertainment from 8pm to 1am regularly attracts dance fans and others from many parts of the country.
“The programme includes ballroom, sequence, rock and roll and disco and it is all to live music. There is also a 300 prize tombola and a sponsored raffle.
“We always think of it as a kind of New Year’s Eve party,” said Jan.
Tickets, costing £20 each, are available from her on 01964 542629 or 0799 057 6157.
