Thousands of scooter fanatics are expected to descend upon Bridlington this weekend for an annual rally.

The VFM Scooter Rally, which has come to Bridlington for 20 years, returns to The Spa from Friday 25 to Saturday 26 October.

Steve Foster, who organises the event, said: “It is just a great little town for a scooter rally. Once you are at the harbour you can just walk from pub to pub seeing everyone you want to meet up with.”

Around 3,000 visitors will gather in the town, many staying in the B&Bs they return to each year.

A collectors fair is on Saturday, with vintage scooters and memorabilia, and there is live music on Friday and Saturday evening from 8pm at The Spa.

This year, Friday’s entertainment is King Kurt, and on Saturday night The Detail and The Complete Stone Roses.

“It is pretty much the last event of the year for us and a chance to wish everyone a merry Christmas,” said Steve.

“Thank you to the town and all the hoteliers and licensees; it is nice to be welcomed into Bridlington.”

A Spa spokesperson said: “They are really fun-loving people and there is never any trouble. It is just a fun-loving atmosphere.”
