Parish records go on show

St Elgin’s Church, North Frodingham, are holding a display of records in church called Your Parish, Past, Present and Future on May 10 and 11.

These records go back to 1559 and include baptism, marriage and burial and funeral records as well as a plan of school alterations (1913), the enclosure award and plan and correspondence regarding the Celtic Cross.

There is no charge for viewing these records - however there will be a box for donations

There will be refreshments available and a raffle.

The large East and West windows are in poor condition.

The stonework has weathered and crumbled and the lead work and glass fastenings have deteriorated.

The church needs to raise £7,500.

All the money raised from this weekend is pledged to that restoration.

Opening Times: Saturday: 10am to 4pm, Sunday: 11am to 3.30pm
