Bridlington Excelsior Band is delighted to announce the appointment of its new musical director.
Brian Anderson, who has many years of experience as a band trainer and conductor, will be taking over the reins from Peter Richardson who will become the band’s new solo cornet player.
Brian’s experience and training is seated within the Salvation Army and the Contesting world, and members are confident he can maintain the group’s forward momentum.
Band secretary, Viv Stamford, said: “We have been steadily improving in the last few years and we hope Brian will help us make that extra improvement we really need.”
The band originally formed at the end of the 19th century won a number of prizes but last competed in 1950.
Current members have plans to once again represent Bridlington in competition and are always on the look out for new members.
The Bridlington Excelsior Band will next perform on March 7 at the Baptist Church and anyone interested in joining or finding out more should call Viv Stamford on 01262 679650 or email Vivstamford@btinternet.com
