A LOCAL art group is embarking on its first solo exhibition from this weekend, displaying paintings with a festive theme.

More than twenty members of the Art Therapy and Enjoy Art classes, held at the West Hill Community Centre, will be displaying their artwork at Gallery@TheSpa from this Saturday, December 17, until Friday, December 30.

Cec Lindley, West Hill Community Centre manager, said all the members were excited to see their work up at the Spa.

“There are around 75 paintings in the exhibition and we have priced them all affordably so people can get a painting and use it like a Christmas decoration,” said Cec.

“The Art Therapy classes have been running for around 6 years, and the morning classes, Enjoy Art, have spilled over from that.

“It’s fantastic that there is something like this at the Spa for local people to be able to exhibit their work.”

Run with tutor Sharon Winter, the Art Therapy classes are sponsored by Lloyds TSB and the Enjoy Art by Tesco.

The gallery opening times, at the Spa, are 10am-6pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am-4pm on Sunday.
