THE tourist season will start with a bang this Easter weekend for two of Bridlington's museums.
Beside The Seaside – The Bridlington Experience, in Queen Street, is now in its 10th year and has attracted thousands of visitors.

Both children and adults can enjoy learning the history of the town through colourful exhibits and hands-on interactive displays and games.

Highlights include a recreation of a 1890s railway carriage and the accompanying story of a Victorian family’s trip to Bridlington.

Visitors can also step back in time to experience an Edwardian Punch and Judy show, or cower from a Boarding House landlady as she lays down the law in a reconstructed 1950s living room.

The seaside and natural history displays show the area’s rich geographical history and the Battle of Flamborough Head is also chronicled.

The Bayle Musuem in Baylegate will also be enticing visitors from tomorrow onwards.

The museum holds a unique collection of artefacts of Bridlington’s history in seven very different and interesting rooms within the Grade 1 listed building.

Both museums are owned and managed by the Lords Feoffees, a unique charitable organisation that puts income received from property back into the town for the benefit of the local people.

l The Bayle Museum is open weekdays between 10am and 5pm, admission is £1, concessions 50p.

l Beside The Seaside – The Bridlington Experience is the same price and is open seven days a week between 10am and 4pm from tomorrow through to September 28.
