BRIDLINGTON'S Gasworx skatepark has had a glowing review in Britain's top skateboard magazine, Sidewalk.
The six-page feature says the park is "near to perfect" and encourages people from across the UK to pay it a visit – and that is exactly what has happened.
In the article, journalist Ben Powell said: "This is a skatepark more than worth travelling to and from anywhere in the UK. It really is that good.
"Be proud of yourselves Bridlington, you've created something incredible."
Nick Johnson, manager of the skatepark, said: "I was blown away when I saw the feature. It was better then a lot of the big parks in the country which have been around a few years.
"It has had a great effect with people coming from Ipswich, Sheffield and Leeds because of the report."
The feature covers the basics such as cost, directions and public transport, plus a review of the facilities.
The magazine said nothing was amiss and described the overall park as an "absolute joy".
Under the section marked negatives Mr Powell said: "After wracking my brain trying to come up with anything negative to say about this place I'm conceding defeat. This is as near to a perfect modern concrete skatepark as you'll find anywhere and seamlessly combines both street and transition without impeding the flow of the overall park."
According to the review the best part of the park is the bowl.
Mr Powell said: "It is without a doubt one of the most fun bowls to crop up anywhere in the UK in recent years."
Mr Johnson said: "Sidewalk is the number one skating magazine in the country and it's the one everyone reads and listens to. It has put Bridlington on the skating map."
This weekend was also National Go Skateboarding Day and skaters came to Gasworx in fancy dress and, as well as enjoying the skating, they also made the most of a barbecue.
Mr Johnson said: "The weather wasn't fantastic but we had a barbecue and quite a lot of people came in fancy dress and everyone enjoyed it."
