AFTER a fun-filled, action-packed week, Bridlington Old Town Summer Festival came to a close on Sunday.
Throughout the week there has been stalls, music, open gardens, competitions and art shows, all taking in place in High Street, Market Place and Church Green.

Penelope Weston, festival organiser, said: "It has been a very good festival.

"The bad weather for the first weekend was a bit of a blow, but a few garden owners volunteered to open again and that was great.

"The concerts during the week have all been really good and very well supported and everything came together on Sunday."

Among Sunday's highlights was the first Old Town Show on Church Green, together with a fun dog show, a food and craft fayre and a pub tug-of-war, which was won by The Queens Hotel team.

Penelope said: "The great thing about Sunday was the whole of the Old Town was full with people all day. We have never had so many people for so long all enjoying themselves.

"High Street was closed to traffic and there were people sat on the streets, we had buskers, line-dancers and a food and craft fayre. It was busy right through to close at 4pm and some of the stall holders sold out.

"There was a flower festival in the Priory and a tug of war organised by the pubs with six pubs taking part."

"The Old Town Show was a tremendous success with a variety of things for people to enjoy, there was something for everyone and we hope to do it again next year," she said.
