Cold showers will be a thing of past for teams using the facilities at Bridlington Sports and Community Club thanks to Hudson Contract Services.

The business has paid for a new central heating system and boiler at the club’s premises off Moorfield Road, as part of a three-year project to get more people involved in activities there.

As a business we are keen on supporting local projects that develop younger generations and help provide a strong community spirit.

Steve Lount, chairman of the grounds committee at BSCC, added “This is a great boost to our three-year plan and gives something back to all the volunteers who provide their time in coaching and managing the local clubs.

“By improving the club’s facilities, we hope to encourage players and supporters to stick around after matches and training and therefore increase the club’s revenues, which can be fed back into our development programme.”

The club is home to cricket, football, hockey, petanque and tennis teams.

It’s three year-plan aims to get more juniors playing sport, refurbish the clubouse, boost membership and increase its standing in the community.

Hudson Contract, the UK’s largest audit, contract and payroll service to the construction industry, also sponsors Bridlington Rugby Club and Jack Bell their youth development officer, ReMarkable Theatre Company and has supported over 50 construction apprentices through colleges in Bridlington and Scarborough.

Joint owner and commercial director Lesley Jackson said: “Hudson Contract is delighted to be able to help the club achieve its refurbishment target for year one by funding the installation of the new heating system.

“As a business we are keen on supporting local projects that develop younger generations and help provide a strong community spirit.”
