SEWERBY lost the toss and were invited to bat first on a pitch of variable bounce.
Both openers went inside the first four overs but a stand of 32 between Ben Dobson (13) and Chris Chapman took the score to 53.
Shaun Acton (11) helped things along but when Chapman was out lbw for 41 the score was 91 for 5 after 32 overs.
A partnership between the Robinson brothers enlivened things with Russ scoring 47 from 54 balls. Rob Coates took over in typical fashion and hit 35 not out from 20 balls and with Ricky Robinson hitting 19 from 19 balls Sewerby finished on 182 for 6.
Beverley lost a wicket to the first ball of the second over and were never able to break free from some tight bowling and fielding from Sewerby.
Only Matt Smith and William Wilson were able to put a partnership together with Smith reaching 24 and Wilson 26.
Good bowling changes by skipper Dobson kept bringing wickets but then dropped catches let Beverley off the hook and they were able to see out the overs to finish on 118 for 7.
Pick of the Sewerby bowlers was Russ Robinson with 3 for 24 from 12 overs but he was ably supported by all the other bowlers.
