Cycling club celebrate a superb year
RAGS was the venue for Bridlington Cycling Club’s annual awards dinner.
The club had been represented strongly in the year’s regional road race leagues, open time trials and sportives, so the evening was the chance to recognise achievements within the club.

Congratulations to all, but in particular Andy Askwith, successfully defending his title and claiming yet more championships.
Perhaps the most deserving of praise is Barrie Lonsdale, modest and a true gentleman.
Member of 30 years, he was strong time trial man in his day and is now the club’s trusted time keeper.
Thanks were expressed to all who help keep the club running and to Rags for hosting the event.
With Bradley Wiggins’s Tour De France win and the British cycling team’s domination at the London Olympics, the sport is again becoming popular.
A 10-mile time trial may not be for newcomers but a gentle two-hour Sunday morning ride could be your perfect introduction to the club.
As the ‘Old Guard’ raise their game, new names on trophies and fresh members joining, will 2013 also be a year to remember?
