Benson first all the way

MORE than 260 young people from schools in the local area turned out for the Bridlington Primary School Cross Country Finals at Bridlington School, organised by The Bridlington Schools Sports Partnership.

Conor Benson, aged eight, from Our Lady and St Peter’s School, was very proud to be able to represent his school in the year 3/4 event.

Right from the start, Benson took a determined and clear lead and kept up his pace throughout the race, thereby denying anybody the opportunity to overtake him or come close to him on the way.

Conor, a keen footballer with the Burlington Jackdaws under 9s team and a member of Bridlington Swimming Club, was thrilled to take first place and be the overall winner, the first time his school has had a winner in such an event.
