Work continues to progress at the new East Riding Leisure Bridlington centre, as the countdown to the opening day continues.

The focus at the moment is on the sports hall, where the floors are being laid, and on the Splash Zone in the swimming pool area, where the new play structures are being installed.

The seafront complex’s Splash Zone fun pool will be home to two interactive water slides – Aqua Smash and Slide Champ – and an interactive waterplay structure with a huge Tipping Bucket, water jets and games for toddlers.

Aqua Smash will feature sensors that users can touch while sliding down. At the end, they can push the button and record their score, including their sliding speed.

Slide Champ is the speed slide – users will lie down and slide against the clock.

Keep up with all the developments and opening dates on www.eastridingleisure.co.uk/bridlington, which also has information about membership packages and children’s parties.
