JUNE may have been a washout for most people, but Alex Belt has relished the wet conditions.
He rounded off a tremendous month by winning the Yorkshire PGA championships last week at Willow Valley Golf Club.
After a one-over par round on day one, Belt was one under for the second 18 holes to take the title by one shot.
Belt said: “Willow Valley is regarded as one of the toughest courses in Yorkshire off the championship tees.
“It was a windy two days but I managed to hold my nerve.
“I was one shot behind the overnight leader, former European tour player Neil Cheetham, with two holes to play but I finished with a birdie and a par to win by one.”
The following day, Belt finished third in the Pro-Am event at the course near Brighouse.
