Team members from Lloyd Dowson Chartered Accountants will be getting on their bikes and riding from Scarborough to Bridlington next month.

Inspired by the Tour de Yorkshire visiting the area in May, the staff will be getting on their bikes on Saturday, 18 April to raise money for Saint Catherine’s Hospice.

The cycle ride, which will begin from Lloyd Dowson’s Scarborough office on Falsgrave Road and finish at The Spa, Bridlington, will cover 22 miles.

The route will take the team through surrounding villages and a variety of terrain.

Team members have been taking part in various practice routes in preparation for the ride.

Vanessa Rowbottom, marketing manager for Lloyd Dowson, said: “The Tour De Yorkshire has been a great inspiration for us to do this as it has raised the profile of cycling and cycling is a popular sport.

“There are several members of our team who are serious cyclists and they have welcomed the opportunity to take part in the ride and raise money for charity.”

Carolyn Jackson, fund-raising manager for Saint Catherine’s, thanked Lloyd Dowson for their support.

“The team at Lloyd Dowson are incredibly supportive of the hospice and we are delighted that once again they are putting so much effort into raising money for patient care,” she said.

The Tour de Yorkshire will start at The Spa in Bridlington on 1 May and will finish in Scarborough at the Oasis Cafe on Marine Drive.
