THE best blackball pool players from Great Britain will arrive at Bridlington Spa on Monday for the start of the EBA Masters.

Teams from Gibralta, Catalonia and the Republic of Ireland will also be involved in the two-week competition, which is likely to bring around 700 players to East Yorkshire.

After Monday morning’s opening ceremony, action begins with matches in the Ladies A, Men’s B and Masters team events from 11am.

Various team competitions continue throughout the first week, with the men’s individuals and the masters individuals competition, which is sponsored by bridlington Tourism Association, kicking off on Wednesday evening.

With up to 40 tables laid out on the floor of the Royal Hall, there will be plenty of pool action over the next fortnight, with games starting at 9.30am each day and running well into the evening.

Team and individual finals will be held on Saturday, March 23, before the competition moves into a second week, which will feature under 23s, under 18s, and special needs team events.

Three Bridlington players, Jonny Lincoln, Dug McCall and Paul Stroud will be representing England at B and Seniors level and will be involved throughout the week.

Admission to the Spa for spectators is free for all events.
