Bridlington’s Phill Taylor achieved a long-held ambition with a personal best at the Greater Manchester Marathon.
For the first time, he managed to complete 26 miles in under two-and-a-half hours, to finish seventh.
Having wanted to beat the milestone for some time, he easily achieved his target, clocking 2:28:08.
Taylor was delighted with his performance and said: “My legs are not too bad either as I ran fairly comfortably. I’m sure there’s more to come and I can run faster, fingers crossed.”
