Sproatley success for Bridlington runner Taylor

Phill Taylor continued his fine form with another win in the latest round of the East Hull Harriers Summer League.

He was first across the line in last week’s seven-mile race at Sproatley, an event which saw him form part of a 19-strong squad from Bridlington Road Runners.

Taylor clocked 38:59 with team-mate Scott Hargreaves eighth in 42:46.

John Potter was first V60 in 47:58 and Josh Taylor was first junior in 51:10, closely followed by Janet Potter who was the first Bridlington lady to finish and was first V60.

Emma Artley ran well and was first F35 in a time of 53:03 and Kirsten Porter ran fantastically to take third in the handicap system.

Twenty Road Runners turned out for the weekly Sewerby Parkrun.

Hargreaves was third in 18:32 with only Rose Shipley achieving a personal best time of 25:34.

Vicki Ellerker took part in the Holyrood Edinburgh Parkrun, taking in the wonderful scenery around the Scottish capital, while Andy Baker was back to excellent form at the Dalby Forest Parkrun, finishing sixth in 20:32.

On Sunday, eight bridlington runenrs took part in the Asia Foundation Hull 10k. Danny Brunton ran a brilliant ,35:37 finishing 10th, followed by Nick Hellewell in 38:14.

Finishing well was Duncan Smart in 41:10 with Zoe Ruston being third F35 in 46:33. Booey Brown was next home in 55:26, Lyn Gent came close to breaking the hour-mark in 1:00:22 with Robert and Tina Calthorpe finishing together finishing in 1:14:09.
