The final leg of the Order of Merit took place at Bridlington Links EGGS Section in the form of the Beaulah Land Trophy.
At the start of play, there were 13 players who could conceivably win the coveted award which made the competition extremely competitive and tense throughout.
A magnificent round of 41 points for Kevin Spark was enough to see him to victory on the day and when the final placings were announced, he had done enough to capture the 2015 Order of Merit Award.
Overnight leader had been Charlie Outhart, who finished as runner-up after a fine season in the six ‘majors’.
The runner-up in the final competition was Martin Bainbridge, who shot a round of 40 points to have his handicap cut to single figures, the lowest in the EGGS Section.
There were twos returned by Kevin Thickett and Peter McBride.
Thursday’s back nine competition was a three-to-count game, with each player doubling one hole’s score by declaring a joker in advance of starting the particular hole.
Pride of place went to Roy Porter, Ken Wilson and handicap secretary Dave Hardy who returned a card of 58 points for their half Round.
This was two clear of Bainbridge, Alf Chambers and Graham West who all chipped in to a sold score of 56 points. The highest individual score came from the in-form Barry Crossland who contributed 20 points to his team’s total.
