Bridlington Ladies second team played their first match of the season against Burton Pidsea on Saturday.
Over the summer, the club have been recruiting new players for the Bridlington teams and this was the first opportunity for many of them to play in a competitive match.
The new team passed the ball around well and shortly the first goal of the match was scored by Jenny Wilson.
Bridlington kept up the pressure and scored five more goals in the first half of the match, although Pidsea did manage to break through on a couple of occasions.
The back line, lead by the ever-solid Tracey Wright, welcomed newcomers Rosie Lees, Davina Allen and newly-positioned Alice Marr and Becky Wilson to hold the opposition off.
However, Pidsea did finally breakthrough and score their sole consolation goal.
As captain, coach and goalkeeper with little to do, Sarah Woodcock found the match a pleasure to watch from the back, as positions were held, the ball was passed around confidently and the short corners worked well.
The team came off in fine spirits at half time after a great start to the season.
Buoyed up by the first half performance the team strode back on to the pitch and the midfield of Nina Croft, Becci Nassau and Keren Miller worked solidly running up and down the pitch supporting forwards and backs
