Seconds divide Brid’s top two

The second event in the East Hull Harriers Summer League Series was a six-mile race at Sproatley.

There was a tight tussle to be first Bridlington Road Rrunner to finish, which was narrowly won by Danny Brunton in fifth place in a time of 35:16, followed by Shaun Pickering in sixth place with 35:21.

Not far behind were Nick Jordan 37:14, Scott Hargreaves 37:26 and Josh Taylor 39:40. Among the prize winners were John Potter, the first V60 in 40:10, Janet Potter, the first LV55 in 43:38, and Pauline Smith, the winner of the handicap in 52:45.

Also taking part were: Martin Smith 40:32, Ashley Porter 41:00, Chris Yeomans 45:17, Simon Porter 45:22, Emma Artley 46:25, Stuart Atkinson 48:14, Verona Petty 48:27, Dave Foster 49:21, Kerry Whitehead 50:16, Angela Bentley 50:16, Zoe Ellis 50:53, Dominique Webster 50:56, Mark Loft 51:04, Michelle Rollinson 51:46, Jane Welbourn 52:11, Heidi Baker 54:47, Sarah Hardcastle 57:50, Ben Smith 60:47, Lynda Gent 60:51, Amanda Tindall 60:51, Tina Calthorpe 66:39.

On Saturday, 17 members ran in the Sewerby Parkrun 5K. Once again Nick Jordan was the first Brid runner home in third place with 19:30. Closely following him was Josh Taylor 19:50, Simon Ellerker 20:23 and Mark Woodley 20:53.

Juniors taking part were Tom King 22:14, Ashley Porter 22:42, Cameron Sissons 23:23 and Kirsten Porter 28:21.

Others involved were Kevin Sissons 22:33, Janet Potter 22:57, Emma Artley 23:29, Mandy Holah 27:06, Simon Porter 29:43, Amanda Tindall 30:35, Tina Calthorpe 36:04 and Linda Hall.
