POCKLINGTON hosted an excellently supported Ridings League Gala at Bridlington Leisure World last weekend.

In spite of being down by a 14 year old boys team, everyone rallied together and Bridlington came second to Pocklington by just nine points.

Kyle McKenna, Matthew Cawkill, Tom King and Jack Cowell won both the medley and freestyle 4x50m relays. Kyle Mummery, Tom King, Anthony Smith and Joe Harvey won the open freestyle 4x50m relay.

Success in the individual events came through Joe Harvey (50m back, fly), Tom King (50m fly, free), Yasmin Brown (50m back, fly), Tori Dickinson (50m back), Kyle Mummery (50m free), Kyle McKenna (25m fly) and Shannon Fowler (50m breast). 24 personal best times were gained.

Coach Geoff Edmond said: “It was a well contested gala with good swims. It was a shame we had to give races away but the team’s performance and effort was pleasing.

“Thank you to all helpers.”
