Bridlington Pool League officials believe Ben Sanderson has become the first player to complete a clean sweep of trophies in one season.

Sanderson won the Individuals Cup, teamed up with friend Tom Jay to win the Pairs Cup, and was part of the Albion Pecks team which won the Division Two league title and the Team Cup.

Although other players are suggesting it has been achieved before, the league’s records suggest the 26-year-old is the first to bag all four trophies in the same season.

“I just seemed to be cueing really well, but only four of the trophies was an individual achievement.

“The team only started about two years ago but we have already won plenty of trophies and they are a really good set of lads.

“Thanks to Terry and Louise at the Albion for all their support for the pool team.”

The new season is proving more of a challenge for Sanderson, as he is trying to get round the table with a broken ankle.
