Eight members of Bridlington Road Runners spent an alternative Saturday night out at the No Ego Challenge in Dalby Forest. This race tested agility, strength and concentration when runners had to negotiate over hanging tree branches, avoid tree stumps and roots and tackle steep muddy ascents and descents during the five mile course, all by the light of a head torch.

The event was quite a spectacle with 450 athletes wearing head torches and snaking their way through the forest trail.

First Bridlington man home was John Nolan, finishing in 13th position in an excellent time of 39:47.

Next was James Riley in 44th place in 45:24. Other positions were: 98 Charlie Kilburn 50:14, 128 Dominique Webster 51:51, 135 Bob Eyre 52:17, 248 Wendy Foster 59:21, 407 Sheila Preston 1:10:18, 409 Cate Palmer 1:10:18
