Sunday saw the final race in this season’s East Yorkshire Cross Country League, which was at Sewerby.
In very muddy conditions, 16 Bridlington Road Runners took part and these were supported by a small army of members acting as course marshals.
Phill Taylor ended the season with a strong performance to finish in second place with a time of 34:58. Close behind was Scott Hargreaves in fourth with 35:54.
Emma Brown, in fifth place, was the first Brid woman to finish with 42:15 and was first over 40.
Next was Becky Clifton who was 11th in 43:54 (3rd LV40) and Sarah Wood 15th in 45:58.
Other category placings were Tony Smith (3rd MV50) in 39:23, Janet Potter (1st LV55) in 51:18 and Bob Eyre (1st MV70) in 53:25.
The final placings for the season were: Men’s Team 5th, Women’s Team 3rd, Phill Taylor 1st Man, Emma Brown 4th Lady, Emma Artley 1st LV35, Becky Clifton 2nd LV40, Bob Eyre 1st MV70, Chris Yeomans 2nd MV65 and Janet Potter 1st LV55.
Elswhere, three members of Bridlington RR visited a zoo to run the second FlaminGO 10K.
Martin Booth was 23rd to finish in 42:35.
In addition, Caroline Chard and Lynda Gent put in good performances with times of 55:22 and 61:53 respectively.
