Bridlington Rotary club continued its long-running support of the town’s half marathon by presenting trophies to the first local male and female to finish the race, as well as the first local boy and girl in the one-mile fun run.

The tradition has taken place for several years and the winners were invited to the Rotary Club’s meeting at the Balmoral Hotel last Tuesday.

President Jeff Carling and race organiser Judy Allison, from Bridlington Road Runners, handed over the awards.

Phill Taylor was third overal in the half marathon, finishing in 1:15:11, beaten only by runners from Altrincham and Doncaster clubs.

Karon Colley was the first female member of Bridlington Road Runners to the finish line, clocking 1:45:39.

In the fun run, Ashley Porter led the Bridlington boys home, finishing in 6:57, while Rebekah Pratley’s time of 7:33 earned her the girls’ prize.
