Sunday saw the fourth race in the East Yorkshire Cross Country League at Sledmere Hall, with two loops of the grounds making the race just over seven miles long.
The course has a good mixture of sections snaking through woodland open fields and gravel roads with a slight climb making it a pretty fast course. Bridlington had a record attendance with 27 members braving the the cold frosty morning.
Emma Brown was Bridlington’s first lady home continuing her excellent form and was 11th lady overall with a time of 53:04. Next was Cathy Wood in 12th in 53:31. Third lady was one of the club’s newest members Katy Cawthorn, finishing in 15th place in 54:14
The men also had a strong team out. They were led home by the ever-present Peter Gulc who had another good performance, finishing in 11th position in 45:01. Next was John Nolan, 23rd with 46:31 and hot on his heels was another new member Shannon Bakes, crossing the line in 24th, just eight seconds behind with 46:39.
