Bridlington RUFC director of rugby Rich Girking was furious after his side’s 14-0 home defeat to Heath.
He said: “It was shocking. I thought a home game, against a team below us in the league, was a good chance to get four or even five points, but we let ourselves down.
“There wasn’t a spark, or even an ember, absolutely nothing as the game went on. It was just a terrible performance.
“We had a couple of lads who worked hard individually, but individuals can only influence a game, teams win games. We had a few people out but I was more than happy that the people coming in were good enough to do a job. It shouldn’t have affected the outcome of the game.
“We got torn to pieces in the scrum, which was destroyed several times. Heath’s rucking was far, far better than ours and that was one of the main areas where we lost the game.
“They wanted the ball a lot more than we did, and as things went on our heads went lower and lower.
“We played pretty poorly, while Heath had a pretty basic gameplan but it worked for them. We couldn’t work around it and we took the wrong options. Every time we did something wrong, Heath capitalised.
“They were no bigger than us but we couldn’t get our game going at the breakdown area and work will be done on that.
“Our second team won at Scunthorpe and the thirds had a good day with them, even though they lost. It is good to be back to the old days of a competitive second team and a social thirds.
“A mention too to our new under 17 team who got their first win at the weekend.
