The views of Bridlington director of rugby Rich Girking after his side’s 31-13 win over Barnsley.
“ON SATURDAY, Barnsley arrived with a huge pack and competed well for 20 minutes but ran out of steam and we took control to win comfortably.
“With better passing accuracy the scorline would and should have been greater.
“A huge plus was our first phase where Callum Cappleman, on his return, did well in the lineout and the scrum was dominant in the second half especially.
“Next week we welcome our good friends from up the coast, Scarborough, and if we are to maintain our 100% record we will have to be far more clinical when the chances arrive.
“It proves to be a mouth-watering encounter as they also have a 100% record amassing an impressive 79 points last week.
“Man of the match on Saturday went to Jimmy Thompson who gave a masterclass in powerful running and offloading.
“A mention also to Gaz Stevens who dropped an amazing 50-yard goal. Unfortunately this was done in temper after just dropping his fifth ball.
“Thanks also to Rob Kemp who took the Barnsley prop to hospital and stayed with him after breaking an arm.
“Free entry next week Rob.
“Thank you also to our sponsors, the corner and the Toffs and the Edna Weekes bus for the transport.
“Hard luck to the second team going down by one point at Hull Ionians, but they showed great spirit.
“We wish a speedy recovery to Will Davies who suffered a broken wrist.
“See you all at Dukes Park at 3pm on Saturday, it should be a cracker.”
