Hot favourite Steve Rice qualified for The YDP Pro-am Grand Finals, which will take place at the Huntington WMC in York this autumn.
Twenty-five locals attended the qualifying event, which was held at The Greyhound, and they all had aspirations of making the grand finals. The finals will feature eight top BDO Professionials.
Rice didn’t drop a single leg all night, as he cruised to victory once again.
His performances included two 21-dart legs, one 19-dart leg and a 14-dart leg.
He also attacked the trebles, hitting several maximum scores of 180 and a174.
Rice, known as The Rattler hammered poor Andy Senior in their quarter final battle, and he went on to defeat Stuart Inglis 2-0 in the semi finals, after Inglis had hit two bullseyes to win the off.
Darren Boyd (Bridlington) also kept a clean sheet en route to the final, beating Chris Brooker in the last eight, and Howard Berridge in the semi finals.
In the earlier round, Inglis fired in a 15-dart leg and pulled out a 140 finish.
Austin Brown also landed a brilliant 140 checkout, while Richard Heathcote and Howard Berridge hit 20 and 21-dart legs respectively.
