BRIDLINGTON is set to host sailing’s Dart 18 UK National Championships later this month.
The prestigious four-day event is to be held at Blyth Park at the Royal Yorkshire Yacht Club between Thursday, July 26 and Sunday, July 29.
The annual event sees audiences travel from all over Europe each year and has now been running for over 30 years.
The Royal Yorkshire Yacht Club is seen as the ideal venue to host this years event, with lots of exciting sailing on some of the best, and most challenging waters around the country expected.
Blyth Park is the dinghy section of RYYC and is situated a couple miles south of Bridlington.
The sailing area of the event is to cover the whole of Bridlington Bay.
Each night of the event brings a different-themed event, with food and entertainment available throughout the championships.
Entertainment is scheduled to include live music by Kylie Hudson, an American barn dance, a champagne cruise on the pleasure cruiser the Yorkshire Belle and a prize-giving awards closing ceremony.
The event will kick off on the Thursday with two races and continues with three races scheduled on Friday, followed by two races on both Saturday and Sunday, before a national champion is crowned.
