Bridlington Golf Club is proud to have produced the new East Riding Junior Champion.

Talented teenager Nick Raybould, who is a member at the Belvedere club, beat a very strong field to win the 36-hole East Riding Junior Championship at Cave Castle.

Raybould played some fantastic golf to return two solid level-par gross scores of 72 around the challenging course near Brough.

He was delighted with the win and beat a number of very talented youngsters, including the in-form scratch golfer Ryan Gray from Driffield Golf Club who was the firm pre-tournament favourite to take the title.

Raybould played with Gray for the two rounds and he knew if he could better his scores he had a great chance to win the prestigious title and this proved to be the case.

The Bridlington player has played some great Golf this season and has seen his handicap reduce to a very impressive one.

His consistent performances have also gained him much deserved selection into the full East Riding Senior squad recently where, on his debut, he secured some vital points for the team.

Raybould has also been a key member of the East Riding Junior Team and alongside fellow Bridlington Golf Club members Matty Raybould and Henry Howarth, they have secured good wins for the county.

Special mention should also be made of Bridlington Golf Club junior Matty Raybould who recently finished 28th in the English Under 16s Championship which saw competitors from all over Europe take part. A great performance.
