James Precious has become the latest Bridlington ABC boxer to make it to a national final.

James Precious has become the latest Bridlington ABC boxer to make it to a national final.

He has progressed through the championships, which began at the end of February, and a good win in the quarter finals resulted in a clash with Joseph Childs of the Salisbury ABC in Liverpool on Sunday.

Precious began at a very high pace which Childs really struggled to cope with. This pace continued throughout all three rounds with Precious in control throughout.

After three rounds the Bridlington boxer was awarded a convincing unanimous decision.

Head coach Damien Grant said: “James has done extremely well to get into this position.

“He has put in two stand out performances in the quarter and semi-finals and has earned his place in the top two in the country. He has a very difficult opponent lined up for the final and it is set to be one of his toughest contests to date but one he is more than capable of overcoming with another good performance.”

Precious will box this Saturday in Huddersfield where the winner will be crowned England’s number one.
