On Sunday, five Bridlington Road Runners runners took part in the Barnsley 10K road race.
This is an undulating course along country roads, making it both a fast and challenging course. The Bridlington team completed this in some excellent times.
John Nolan was the first of the Road Runners to cross the line in 80th overall in 40:45 (chip time), followed by Ashley Porter in 43.25 (gun time), with his dad Simon Porter not far behind in 44.40.
The first of the female runners home for the club was Pearl Baysford in 46:04 (gun time) and Karon Colley in 47:42 (provisional time).
Saturday morning saw a damp and drizzly start to the day, but this didn’t perturb 95 runners from taking part in the weekly 5k event at Sewerby Hall.
21 of the field were Bridlington Road Runners, who continue to show fantastic support for this run. Four of the top 10 places were taken by club members and first home was Phill Taylor in 17:58, followed by Nick Jordan, Scott Hargreaves and Mark Woodley, all finishing easily in under 21 minutes.
The first lady home was junior runner Emily Carver, who was the second lady overall, in a fantastic time of 21.21.
The second Road Runners lady was Pat Bielby, who continues to show consistent speed, and finished fourth in 24:13.
