BRIDLINGTON Golf Club member Lewis Nicholls was presented with the East Riding Union of Golf Clubs’ Player Of The Year Salver at the ERUGC Annual Dinner at Willerby Manor.

He shared the trophy with Brough’s Justin Sloan after the pair scored the most points for the East Riding Union team last season.

Nicholls, who has won this award twice in the last three years, displayed a consistent matchplay record, won five out of seven singles matches with one draw and just one loss in 2010.

He helped the team to the runners up spot in the closely fought Yorkshire Inter District League as East Riding lost out to Bradford in the deciding last game of the season.

Speaking at the annual dinner, Nicholls, who is also a member at Ganton Golf Club, said he had high hopes that East Riding can win back the title this year.
