James Cowton competed in the first meeting of the year at Croft Race Circuit near Darlington, racing on his R6 600cc Honda, and making his first appearance on a Thersby Ducati F1-R.

Over the two days, Kilham-based Cowton recorded four second places on his Honda, and amazed everybody by getting a first and a second on his new bike.

He is now preparing his Honda for the Ian Watson Spring Cup Meeting at Olivers Mount in Scarborough, later this month.

This event attracted some big motorsport names such as Guy Martin, Ian Lougher and Dave Molyneux in the sidecar class.
