The views of Bridlington RUFC director of rugby Jamie Muru after the 1st XV’s 50-0 defeat at North Ribblesdale.
“The scoreline was fairly accurate, although we showed an improvement in terms of commitment and attitude from the previous week against Dinnington.
“North Ribblesdale had about eight chances to score and scored seven times. It was one of those days where we tried to build pressure but made a mistake and they punished us.
“We turned round 22-0 down, and controlled the ball for the first 10 minutes of the second half. We started with belief but had a good chance to score and didn’t take advantage.
“We had a couple of players missing but that was not the reason, we are not going down that road.
“Most guys carry niggles throughout the season but we have a few who are putting their hands up to play when they really need a week off.
“It highlights that we don’t have strength in depth in some areas, but in previous years, teams have come to us in that situation and we have taken advantage. Now the boot is on the other foot.
“It is a tough month for us. After the long trip to North Ribblesdale, and the journey does take it out of you, we play Doncaster Phoenix this weekend and they are top of the league, then we go to Wath-upon-Dearne.
“But I can’t fault the attitude in training or at games.”
