THERE were more international goals for Bridlington’s Di Levitt during her latest spell with the England Masters team.

She described the action as a ‘fantastic experience’ as The Masters World Cup was held in Canterbury and Oxford during August.

“The men’s play in five- year age bands up to over 70s. The women only had opposition at over 40 and 50.

“Therefore our over 45s and 55s had no one to play.

“All England teams playing came in the top three places most winning their age groups, as did my team Over 50’s – the one I was selected for originally.

“I however played in two warm up matches for England over 55s. The first was against New Zealand Over 50s and we drew 1-1, I scored the goal.

“The second was against Australia over 50’s and we lost 5-3. This was a very physical end to end match.

“We were losing 3-1. I then scored our third goal to put us on equal terms before they crept ahead again.

“With the sucess of the GB women’s bronze medal performance I hope that more people will become interested in the sport.

“Our training starts next week and it would be great to see people maybe wanting to return to the sport or trying it out.

“Ideally it would be great to see more youngsters giving it a go.”
