Pocklington 3rds stepped in at the last minute to provide opposition for Bridlington Marauders, but the hosts were unaffected by the late change and breezed to a 39-5 win.

Having lost Matty Taylor after a late tackle in the game, the Marauders took the lead when Ben Lawry dived over the line and Ian Winterbottom converted.

Tom Harwood scored two tries.

Wayne Atkinson added a second try after good pressure and Winterbottom’s kick went in off the post.

Two further first half tries followed from Tom Harwood and John Lee and Brid led 24-0 at the break.

A surge by the Pocklington pack saw a forward’s try after the restart.

But Bridlington dominated afterwards, with the match going to uncontested scrums.

Joe Franks ran in another try and then Lee and Harwood scored their second scores of the afternoon.

Winterbottom was named man of the match.
