ANOTHER week of poor conditions didn’t stop both established and new members putting in some good performances in various events.
Tuesday evening saw the seventh race in the City of Hull Champagne League take place at Kiplingcoates.
The race was a multi terrain event with a staggered handicap, Dave Foster had an excellent run to finish first overall once handicaps were calculated.
TORRENTIAL rain greeted members on Thursday evening as they started the club’s Three Hills Handicap race.
Despite the conditions Phill Taylor finished first on the road closely followed by newcomer Danny Brunton with Peter Gulc just behind in third place.
Sarah Wood was 1st lady back followed by Angelika Corner. Once handicaps were calculated new member Simon Ellerker won the men’s section with Sarah Wood also claiming the ladies prize.
A DRY but breezy morning on Saturday didn’t deter 31 runners taking part at Sewerby Parkrun.
Martin Smith came home in first place, with Dave Playforth fifth, Ben Smith 12th, Stuart Atkinson 16th and Kevin Sissons 29th after encouraging his son, Cameron, round the course who managed to take over five minutes off his PB.
HOT and muggy conditions on Sunday provided far from ideal conditions for the Goole Riverbank Challenge, a nine-mile multi terrain race along the banks of the River Ouse.
Despite the energy draining conditions Phill Taylor dug deep into his reserves to finish third overall and Angelika Corner continued with her good form to claim 1st LV45.
