THE Bridlington Special Pool team, which represents Yorkshire, held their annual trip to Lancashire and headed home in good spirit following a successful and enjoyable four day tour.
Adele Sperry from Bridlington won the ladies’ competition and Christopher Hodgson, also from Bridlington, beat the reigning champion to take the men’s title.
Sixteen players, including both winners, are from Swanhouse Day Centre and the event was supported and staffed by the day centre in Victoria Road, Bridlington.
During their visit, in which they stayed in a four-star hotel, the group also took part in a 10-pin bowling competition and visted the Lake District and everyone had a really good time.
Director of Swanhouse and pool team manager John Ropero said: “All the players have learning difficulties and do very well; they are already planning and looking forward to next year’s event.”
The team practice every Thursday night at Swanhouse Day Centre and anyone interested in joining can contact Swanhouse on 401384 .
