Next week sees the hugely popular annual Bridlington Golf Festival, which will see golfers from all over the country arrive in the resort to compete in 13 events held at the three local Courses.

Excellent entry numbers have been received by organisers and more than 1,000 players are set to compete.

Festival organiser Anthony Howarth said: “This is the 20th year of the Bridlington Golf Festival and each year we are staggered at the huge response from competitors. The event brings much needed trade to the town and the competitors are always impressed with the quality of the three local golf courses.

“I would like to thank the team at EY Events for their continued support.”

The week is set to get off to a flying start when the Bridlington Links Golf Club plays host to the popular Junior Championship.

During the week there will be two prize presentations. The first takes place on Wednesday evening at Flamborough Head Golf Club and Bridlington Links Golf Club will host the closing presentation on Saturday night.

There are still vacancies in all of the events. For details call Anthony Howarth on 674721.
