BRIDLINGTON Archers recently honoured club chairman Pete Rollin by bestowing him the title of honorary membership in recognition of his many years loyal service to the club in numerous roles.

Pete has been a member of the club for some 12 years and in that time has served as club coach, equipment officer and chairman, a role he has had for many years.

At the club’s AGM last month he was asked to continue this role and was duly elected chairman again.

In addition to this Pete is currently a valued member of the coaching team assisting the club coach in running training courses for beginners and still finds time to carry out his other role as equipment officer and is therefore responsible for maintaining club equipment including the beginner’s bows which must be fit for purpose, and the reordering of new equipment as and when required.

Pete was speechless when club secretary Pat Styles presented him with his certificate confirming his honour recently at the club shooting ground at Burton Agnes sports club.

Bridlington Archers have existed for around 25 years and are at present experiencing exciting times after been granted full membership of Burton Agnes sports club.

A condition of this was the club had to change its name to include the name of the village which is the home of the club.

It is now known as Archers of Bridlington and Burton Agnes.

If you want to learn more about archery and want to get involved, the club runs two training courses per year and the next one will begin in late September.
