BRIDLINGTON will start their Yorkshire One league season with a tough home fixture, as relegated Pontefract visit Dukes Park.
The same opponents will also provide Brid’s last test of the campaign, as the fixture compilers have made the final day list a reverse of the opening day.
After last season’s dismal away form, Brid have a chance to get an early win on their travels, as their first trip is to promoted Huddersfield YMCA.
Then comes the first of the big derbies as Scarborough visit on September 17.
Expect fireworks on November 5 when Brid make the short trip to Driffield, before they host Pocklington two weeks later.
The return game with Scarborough is just before Christmas, with clashes against Driffield and Pocklington scheduled for an interesting looking March,
York are again the final visitors to Dukes Park, before the journey to Pontefract.
Director of rugby Kieran Lawry said: “This season looks like being the hardest Yorkshire One fixture lists for many years.
“The teams coming into the league are all top quality while many of last year’s squads have
strengthened significantly so it will be an extremely difficult test but one the lads are already relishing.
“Our opener at home against relegated Pontefract will be a tough test whilst we will no doubt be seeing fireworks for our bonfire night special away at Driffield on November 5.
“We will also be sure to take a few presents up the coast for our nice pre-Christmas trip to Scarborough on December 17.
“We are looking to build on the positive play we produced in small patches last year and with a few additions to the squad can hopefully go on to a successful season with a top six finish a real possibility.”
