Hilderthorpe take top spot at Quad Athletics schools event

A Quad Kids athletics competition took place at Headlands School, and attracted seven local primary schools.

Teams of four boys and four girls took part in four events, with each child completing a 600m run, a 75m sprint, throwing a vortex and doing a standing long jump.

Points were calculated electronically for each individual and the results were added up to give the final schools league table.

The results were as follows

1st: Hilderthorpe A - 1,567pts

2nd: Martongate A - 1,541pts

3rd: Quay - 1,447pts

4th: Martongate B - 1,297pts

5th: Hilderthorpe B - 1,273 pts

6th: Burlington - 1,134 pts

7th: Bempton - 1,096pts

8th: New Pasture - 1,017pts

9th: Our Lady and St Peter - 976pts

Liz Smith, PE co-ordinator at Hilderthorpe Primary School, said: “We are really proud that we won the event. We are now waiting to hear if we have made it to the next round which takes place at Costello Stadium as the highest placed school from our part of the East Riding should go through.”
