Neil Arton and Jon Rowbottom have been appointed to the board of directors at the Bridlington Rugby Club.
Both Arton and Rowbottom have a long-standing history with the club, having played in the first team during their youth and also through their sponsorship and support of the club over many years.
The appointment will further strengthen the existing board as they have rugby playing experience and an overall knowledge of the club.
Rowbottom said: “I feel privileged to have been asked to join the board and welcome the opportunity to share my knowledge and enthusiasm.”
Arton added: “It is great to be involved in this way and to help make the club and its facilities even better.”
There are areas of the club that the existing directors know need focussing on, one of the most important being the development of the junior section.
Junior sessions have already begun at the club for 11-to-15 year olds on Wednesday evenings between 3.30pm and 4.30pm and it is the intention of the directors for training sessions to be taken by a variety of experienced player and coaches in the new year.
Gordy Morrice, chairman of Bridlington RUFC, said: “These are exciting times for the rugby club with us receiving the RFU Club Accreditation Award last week.
“The added expertise of Neil and Jon to the existing board will open many windows of opportunity for the club in the future.”
