A home match against Whitby Seniors was the highlight of the week for Bridlington Links EGGS Section, with a fabulous Vvictory against all odds.

For some considerable time, Whitby have proved too strong for the Links team and it was a very satisfying experience to get a 5-3 win.

An 18-hole contest also took place on Tuesday, which proved to be a magnificent day for Shaun Duckwith.

His return of 42 points, including a two, was one of the strongest of the year and his front nine yielded a massive 27 points.

Jim Kirby was in second place with a creditable 38 points, which also included a two.

Thursday’s back nine competition was a Blind Pairs Event, and John Kelly’s return to form gave him a fighting chance and being paired with Ken Rooke got them both across the line in first place with 37 points.

David Hardy and Micky McNamara were runners-up with 33 points, with McNamara registering the only two of the day.
