The Cowton Team headed down to Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire last weekend to compete in the 80th Anniversary meeting, in conjunction with the Auto 66 Club.
This meeting included a parade of past stars and three classic races, one for the King of Cadwell Trophy, one for the Charlie Wilkinson Trophy and one for the Tommy Wood Trophy.
Weather conditions were dry and warm, and some good, fast, close racing action was expected for the large capacity crowd.
Cowton won both Supertwin races on the Kendo ER6 Kawasaki.
On his Honda 600, the Kilham rider gained a second and third position in the Junior 600 Races and a great second position in the Classic King of Cadwell on Bob Wood’s 500 Norton to secure more silverware for the cabinet.
The Championship standings after Cadwell, see Copwton hold a 39-point lead in Lee Vernon Road and Track Series.
He also has a 42-point lead in Junior 600 class and a slender six- point advantage in the Super Lightweight.
In the Northern Clubmanssection, Cowton leads the super lightweight by 6 points and is a close second in 600.
He heads to Northern Ireland this week to compete in the Ulster GP and after his visit to Armoy for the races there, he hopes to be on the podium again, after getting a third on the 250 Yamaha, a third on the 650 Supertwin and a sixth position on the 600 Honda on his first visit to Antrim.
